Linz with more than 200,000 inhabitants is the capital of the province of Upper Austria nestled in a beautiful natural landscape by Danube. The designation of the European Capital of Culture 2009 along with being one of the most successful economic areas in Austria makes Linz an international creative city of culture and industry. Linz lies on the west-east axis between Vienna and Salzburg, while the Austrian Alps, Germany and Czech Republic are within short travel distance.

Conference venue is the voestalpine Stahlwelt (steel world), a globally unique exhibition center dedicated to steel. From the top of the building, you can gain a spectacular view over the largest industrial site in Austria, while the guided plant tours are supposed to give you a glimpse behind the scenes of steel production.
